LAGOS, NIGERIA - It was Oluchi Nweaga who set the ball rolling. Since she won the Inaugural MNET Face of Africa contest ,a lot of Nigerian youths have turned their eyes on modelling. Then in 2001, Agbani Darego became the first Nigerian and black African to be crowned Miss World. If any stunningly beautiful girl was waiting for an inspiration, that was it!

G21 takes you into the world?of Paulica Edim, a rising African model and potential beauty queen. Steve Ogah got her to respond to a few questions.

G21: How did you get into modelling?

Paulica: It started during my high school days at the cultural shows?in school.

G21: Why become a Model?

Paulica: I see it as another avenue to use my talents or gifts positively as models or beauty queens?also perfom charity work.

G21: Have you?worked under any Management Agency?

Paulica: Yes.I have been under Eclipse models and it was a good beginning.

G21: How did?it go with Eclipse?

G21: It must have been an experience.

Paulica: Yes it was. I mean the lights, cameras, different faces, and music. It was great for me because I learnt a lot.

G21: Like what?

Paulica: Not to?throw away?your focus and remain focus no matter what happens.

G21What are your Hobbies?

Paulica: I like Cooking and being with kids.

G21Do you have any favourite food ?

Paulica: Moi moi !

G21: What turns you on?

Paulica: Simplicity. G21: And off ?

Paulica: Lies.

G21: Do you think modelling is profitable?

Paulica: With likes of Oluchi, Naomi Campbell and?a whole?lot, I think it is. But I have not started making the millions yet. (Chuckles)

G21: Have you had support from the home front?

Paulica: Yes my family has been very supportive.

G21: Do you consider yourself?a super model?

Paulica: (Mild laughter) No. No. Not yet. For now am just a model.

G21: What are you up to at the moment?

Paulica: Right now I am in camp along with other girls for the upcoming Miss Cross River 2004.

G21: That is pretty big. Isn't it?

Paulica: Yes it is. But i have to remain cool else i might?miss my focus.

G21: And how is it going?

Paulica: I am doing well and there is discpline in camp.

G21: Should you become the Queen,What would you do?

Paulica: I will be myself. I will remain positive and try to do the best I can to bring smiles to faces of people.

G21: Do you have a role model?

Paulica: Of course. Yes. I admire Naomi Campbell.
