RDR logo.THE HARDEST DAYS - These have been the hardest days of my political life - the run-up to the presidential elections.

Somewhere in the past, I believe, our politicians crossed a line in accepting money as they do through the obvious, direct channels, as well as through the indirect channels of the party - the so-called soft money.

Time after time we see decisions being made in accord with the richest interests who have feathered the nests on both sides of the political spectrum.

I would be willing to put the current administration, as well as most members of the House and Senate, on trial for bribery and treason.

Since 1958 I have voted for Democrats. Democrats only. Others need not apply. I have been happy to vote Democrat most of the time - sometimes unwilling or unhappy - but prepared for the consequences.

NO MORE.

To vote for either Gush or Bore does not seem acceptable to me.

The examples are there daily in the news, if one simply reads carefully. Motorola pleads to have more immigration of engineers, because they cannot find sufficient numbers in America - BUT are willing to spend $1,800,000,000 on a research and development center in China and another $250,000,000 annually in support for technical education in the field of semiconductors in China. Intel and Hewlett Packard in India - same story.

Microsoft throughout the Pacific Rim, with technical centers and educational programs by the dozen. The bill goes skating through House and Senate, signed by the President - all of whom are on the payrolls of these companies.

Screw the American worker. A nation that does not protect its workers does not deserve to be protected by its workers.

Enough of that! No matter how patriotic I feel, I begin to think serious thoughts of sedition and insurrection. But how else can one send the message? I cannot indict Clinton and the House leadership and the Senate Whip.

The combination of our bought-and-sold politicians and corporations that are completely out of control should be enough to set off riots!

A century ago, no corporation could be formed that would last into perpetuity; a would-be corporation had to prove that it served a public good, or else could not be brought into being.

So the corporations did the only reasonable thing: they bought the government.

Meanwhile, however, the press tells us that there are no problems, that we are experiencing such unbelieveable prosperity, etc., etc., etc.,

The press becomes as big a prevaricator as the politicians for not telling the truth.

I have tried to believe Bore. I have tried to listen to Gush. Quietly.

Listening.

Absorbing.

Heeding carefully. Attention riveted and total.

I simply cannot believe a word that comes out of their mouths. They are full of lies.

Gush has helped plunge Texas into the economic abyss that it is for the large majority of the population. Bore promises the same old promises that he and Clinton promised in 1992 and 1996 - and thereafter no action.

The media are not honest. They do not report that these two candidates have zero credibility - and the same goes for their numerous advisers. I have listened to reporters talk about campaigns: they knowingly and willingly participate in a charade. They know the pack of liars and they will not name them for what they are.

So where do we go?

Talk to me.

I am depressed.

These are the hardest days.
