Like the evening I got a call to the east side and wound up a half hour later at the cab stand in front of the Marble Gang (a Black nightclub and restaurant - the owners were pals from childhood and played marbles on the very ground where they later built their club).

MY GLASS HOUSE: It crept up on me. I woke up one morning and Rod was back.

What I mean by that is that I was hearing the soundtrack again. I was in the movie where I actually was the hero and the comic foil.

I'm certainly not as handsome or virile anymore. I'm deteriorating rapidly, in fact. The dog is getting old. I'm still funny, though, and willing to take risks.
