YOUR E-MAILS to us were quite overwhelming during the last few weeks. No wonder, considering what we have published and how the world has changed. Rumors of war in the air and all that.
So we open with YOU this week in VOX POPULI. Here's a teaser:
SUBJECT: American, United This poem, written by another employee, was sent to me from my sister, a Washington D.C. American Airlines employee of nearly 20 years who, after the attack, has been so distraught that she's struggling with whether she can continue her employment. Please forward it on in support of all airline employees who risk their lives for us everyday.

Voices in DurbanAAMERA JIWAJI
The human soul has many colours. Not black, white, and brown but smiles of blue, whispers of green, drops of red and echoes of yellow. "Voices of Victims" built a rainbow from the colours of pain, sorrow, and suffering. Those that shone through were of strength and survival.
Voices of tragedy and sorrow echoed around the ICC (International Conference Centre) in Durban begging a release from every member in the audience through hoarse tears and gasps of horror. But the kind of pain that was carried in the words of the victims and hidden in the shadows of their eyes could not be communicated, could not be shared. Patrick Kavanagh said; "No man can adequately describe Irish life who ignores the Gaelic Athletic Association. Football runs women a hard
race as a topic of conversation". To suggest that the man from Enniskeen
was anything less than accurate could incur the wrath of many from the
"stony grey hills", but I do contend that in the articulation stakes buses
come in a comfortable third; ahead of the weather, tribunals and Eamon

POWERSSOUND: : Asked to select 10 favorite bands of the rock era, most people would not automatically include Blondie. But after listening to a half-dozen newly remastered CDs from this talented group, I suspect many listeners would consider ,putting this always entertaining band into the mix of the best of the '80s, if not of all time.
"'Mornin', Jack!" I greeted him. "Headed into work, too?" "Naw, Pete," he said. "Just gettin' back from the bar."
