That is NOT the vision of this century we mean to bring you in this Special Edition. Rather, The World's Magazine believes that the 20th Century has been a watershed for Human Rights.
In this century, more than any other in the history of our world, fundamental questions about the role of women, indigenous peoples, ethnic and religious minorities have been protested about, publicly debated, and agonized over. In many instances, the basic rights of these groups of have triumphed and prevailed.

We see the candle flames of Hope burning in Northern Ireland, in East Timor, in America's "New South," in the new South Africa and in the focus of female legislators and executives around the world.
Rather than despair for humanity --- which many believe to be our inclination --- this Special Edition on the 20th Century is meant to sing the body electric and to celebrate the advancement of humankind even in the face of unspeakable horrors!.... (CONTINUED INSIDE.)

Women's century, my arse! Three days before I leave the stability of my promising career, you ask me if this century has improved the lot of women.
LONDON CALLING!
We mean to generate energy throughout the 21st Century.
