3 JULY, 2007: Wait a minute! Dick Cheney got his hand puppet to give I. Lewis Libby a walk? We find this out the day before what Americans call Independence Day, a day commemorating the notion that people were willing to take up arms to stand against imperialism, and no one even howls? I feel like I have gone into a serious case of cognitive dissonance.

Outrage is too small a word for this. I'm thinking more like running someone out of town on a rail.

Look in the mirror. Do you see a sheep's face?

I need to remind you of something. EVERY office holder in this country and every member of the military swears a solemn oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. Not the President, not the flag, the Constitution. Think about that as you let these lawless bastards trash the document.

2 JULY, 2007: I KNOW: "Who took the leash off that dog?".

Back in The Day, when I was publishing Your World's Magazine, because I felt I had to exhibit a sense of responsibility - in order to increase the credibility of the other writers here at G21.net - I tended to restrain my own writing and commentary a bit. Letting the magazine go has given me a new sense of FREEDOM. IF you thought I "Unbound" before, you're going find this a truly wild ride.

Some of you may have gotten a sense of that from my first posting in the RANTS section of this Blog.

Here's a friendly reminder, shared with you by the son of a British immigrant.

Here's another shout out to THE HATERS who are down on hip-hop and my peeps! YOU are so WRONG! Get smart! We have a sense of humor, why don't you? Are you listening Oprah?

We are running up to July Fourth here in the USA, a national holiday they tell me. So I think it's a great time to bring up the words of the late, great Malcolm X, one of my personal heroes. So I quote:

I'm not a Democrat. I'm not a Republican, and I don't even consider myself an American. If you and I were Americans, there'd be no problem. Those Honkies that just got off the boat, they're already Americans; Polacks are already Americans; the Italian refugees are already Americans. Everything that came out of Europe, every blue-eyed thing, is already an American. And as long as you and I have been over here, we aren't Americans yet.

Well, I am one who doesn't believe in deluding myself. I'm not going to sit at your table and watch you eat, with nothing on my plate, and call myself a diner. Sitting at the table doesn't make you a diner, unless you eat some of what's on that plate. Being here in America doesn't make you an American. Being born here in America doesn't make you an American. Why, if birth made you American, you wouldn't need any legislation; you wouldn't need any amendments to the Constitution; you wouldn't be faced with civil-rights filibustering in Washington, D.C., right now. They don't have to pass civil-rights legislation to make a Polack an American.

No, I'm not an American. I'm one of the 22 million black people who are the victims of Americanism. One of the 22 million black people who are the victims of democracy, nothing but disguised hypocrisy. So, I'm not standing here speaking to you as an American, or a patriot, or a flag-saluter, or a flag-waver -- no, not I. I'm speaking as a victim of this American system. And I see America through the eyes of the victim. I don't see any American dream; I see an American nightmare. - Malcolm X "The Ballot or the Bullet" Speech, 1964.

Bear in mind, Gentle Reader, those are Malcolm's words, not mine. I certainly don't want you thinking I'm another Black man who needs to be shot. Haven't y'all killed enough of us already?

I do want you to think, though, that despite what billionaires like Oprah and Cosby say, all of us are not happy, sappy and full of crappy.

They accused brother Malcolm of being the angriest Black man in America, Back in the Day. Count me a close second or third.
