This is where our readers and writers get to talk to each other.
Enjoy!
I just found and read the article by Bob Powers concerning the wedding of Rosemary Clooney. Thank you for the details of a very special day not only for Rosemary and Dante but for their family, friends, and fans as well. We met Dante at RAINBOW & STARS about 10 days before the big event. Since Rosemary has been my favorite singer since I was 7 years old, we fly to New York every year to hear her perform. The added attraction this year was the concluding song being performed by Dante himself! What a pleasant surprise to find out that he really has a very nice voice! When we met him after the midnight show, I suggested that he get Rosemary to sign a pre-nuptial agreement--he looked at me as if I was demented until I explained that since he has so much ability, it would be terrific if she would include him in her next album!
What a wonderful couple they are--when he walks her onstage you can see the pride and love radiating on his face.
Thank you for a very informative story.
Melinda L.
She was on a respirator for a while. Doctors feared permanent brain damage. Her primary physician was quoted as saying he would have to start believing in God, because he felt her recovery was "a miracle." Rosemary's sister-in-law Nina Clooney (George's mom) told a friend that there are no signs of anything wrong.
So as soon as my presence is nil at G21, the overall quality of the mag goes UP!
The only explanation: Comrade Rodya emailed the troops and said, "Now that Chuck's gone we're REALLY gonna hafta try harder in the quality department ..."
Guilty Pleasures for me: Merely reading Newsweek and enjoying it. Don't tell anybody. Jeff Winbush's article is wonderful (journalists, by and large, are less interesting to read than writers writing journalism -- which doesn't explain why I like Newsweek), and Raheem's piece whacked me in the gut. I have a niece who, at FIVE, is already worried about her FIGURE. She refuses to EAT. And her hair has to be teased and sprayed before she goes OUT OF THE HOUSE. This is really sick stuff.
I thought GRAND PLANS was a kick in the ass! But I know you're busy with your other projects. Thanks for reading my ramblings.
Sorry to hear about your niece. I've started to see that history has a way of playing some cruel jokes on us. "...upon your children, and your children's children...," I think the line goes.
THE UNIVERSE
The discovery of the understanding of the universe.
2
E=MC The equation for the atom bomb. It says that matter and energy are the same thing. So then what is that? Matter, look at a brick. Its in a three dimensional form. Its made of electrons, protons and neutrons (atoms) and they are moving so the brick is moving. Energy, sunlight. Its in a three dimensional form. It comes to us from the sun therefore it is moving. 3D and moving Both matter and energy are 3D and moving. I outproduce Einstein. We already know all matter has gravity. The bending of light shows that energy also has gravity. So matter and energy are 3D moving with gravity. The universe is made of matter, energy, time and space. That just stated is the matter and energy part. Time and space. Take everything in the universe and stop it. Does time progress? No. Therefore time is the motion and the understanding of all the motion is the understanding of all of time. Space. Space ends. Space does not go on forever. Space is in a three dimensional form. Space moves but does not have gravity. Space moves like this. O /\ + \/ O And that is the understanding of time.
O This is what was first, in the beginning. /\ This is the old kings and queens.
+ This is democracy.
\/ This is socialism.
O This is when the Lord Jesus Christ returns. And that is the understanding of the universe. Glory be to the Father the Son and the Holy Ghost. Revelation chapter 10&11;15-19. It is very important the people receive this information. You may tell someone about this.

Our Mission:
Bob Marley School For The Arts Institute will be an undergraduate, graduate and postgradute college which provide students with a comprehensive opportunity in the arts, communications, and public information, within the structure and context of an enlightened liberal education.
The Institute's foremost intent is to educate students, not only in the traditional sense of a liberal arts education, but in a manner which fosters ideas and perceptions of their own culture and the culture of Jamaica. These ideas and perceptions will manifest themselves in the works of these students, thus, shaping perceptions of current events and defining the culture of the times.
Bob Marley School For The Arts Institute will distinguish itself as a commuter institution whose students reflect the economic, cultural, and educational diversity of contemporary Jamaica. In addition, the Institute will integrate itself into Jamaican culture through its involvement in the Parish of Trelawny and Jamaica in general.
Introduction
The Bob Marley School for the Arts Institute will offer students the unique opportunity to obtain a practical education while taking advantage of the wealth of resources which will be available to them. While creativity in the performing, visual and communication arts will be emphasized, the institute and its staff will work diligently to see the marketability of the artist and their work to fruition.
Because it will be located in Scarlet Hall, Trelawny, we will involve the community and major employers in western Jamaica in an effort to achieve high visibility and recognition for the students and the Institute. With the staff composed of working artists and educators, the Institute believes that students from a variety of cultural, economic and social backgrounds will be given the best practical and liberal arts education.
The Institute believes that an open admission policy and rigorous academic standards can be combined to effectively serve students. Serious career possibilities will be explored while students pursue interests in the following areas:
The majority of decisions concerning students, programs of study and majors will rest with the students themselves. Under the guidance of department faculty and advisors, students will be encouraged to expand their interests by taking advantage of the Institute,s full offering of liberal arts, core curriculum, and interrelating courses in the performing, visual and communications arts. The Institute will provide the framework in which a student will reside "hands on" apprenticeships using on-the-job equipment. Combined with the state-of-the-art facilities provided on campus, the student will be instilled with the confidence and abilities needed to thrive in the highly-competitive world marketplace.
The student will be immersed in the culture of Jamaica, particularly that of the Parish of Trelawny, through the involvement of area facilities. For example, presentation at the Bob Marley Theatre will give students performance opportunities and special lectures, seminars and conferences which benefit the scholarship funds and endowments will attract renowned figures from the media and communications professions. All this combines to form an international showcase for student projects which will, ultimately stimulate fresh interest in the Institute, its programs, and, most importantly, its students.
Our Purpose:
As needs increase, the Institute will add departments, programs and equipment in order to obtain the capability and competitiveness of its students. With an expected 4,000 undergraduate, graduate and postgradute students, as well as a considerable number of transfer students to the two-and-four year institutions, The Bob Marley School for the Arts Institute will be the largest private, independent four-year college in Jamaica.
The Bob Marley School for the Arts Institute will reflect a spirit of affection, respect, artistic freedom and social concern, while creating a new approach to liberal arts education. Ideally, the institution will attract the student who seeks an alternative to the stringent, and often constricting, conventional college and university environment.
The air of originality and vitality will foster the free exchange of ideas between students, faculty and administration. Ultimately, the environment created will be healthy and humane, one that places positive demands on students, while encouraging aspirations, potential, capability and talent.
The spirit of originality and inventiveness will remain constant. More importantly, with international and community involvement, its open admission policy, and the inclusion of the Career Beginnings and Higher Ground programs to assist low-income students, The Bob Marley School for the Arts Institute will allow creativity and the development of new ideas to continue indefinitely.

A Message from the Founder
The Bob Marley School for the Arts Institute will give students a "hands on" environment in which to discover and augment their talents. Unlike some facilities where students are pitted one against another, the Institute will foster an environment in which students come to respect each other both as artists and individuals.
The Bob Marley School for the Arts Institute will give students every opportunity to explore and express their creativity through the use of state-of-the-art equipment, venues and exhibitions. However, because the creative process is a very personal effort, it will be the responsibility of students to make full use of the opportunities given them. In that way, they will be jointly responsible with faculty and staff in creating an environment that serves the artistic and educational needs of the students.
One love

BOB POWERS responds: Thanks, Melinda for the nice note. You are one of the millions of Rosemary
Clooney fans around the world. She's the best.
We are fortunate to have her still with us. I learned that she returned home to Los Angeles Sunday, March 8, after making a miraculous recovery from viral meningitis and encelphalitis. She fell ill on Valentine's Day eve, and was found unconscious in her New York City hotel room by her husband Dante DiPaulo. Rushed to a hospital, she underwent treatment for days before physicians determined the cause of her illness. She ran a temperature of 107 degrees, which is life threatening on its own. She was kept in an ice jacket for two days in a desperate attempt to lower her temperature.
