Herewith our Summer Readership Poll:
Your opinions shape the direction of our editorial content. It's YOUR World's Magazine.
As we move into the "dog days" of summer, we need to know what's on your minds.
So this time out, our questions are topical:
Cheers,
Let's play!
Normally, we restrict our Readership Polls to those people who have been so gracious as to sign up for our e-mail newsletter. In this instance, we are opening the poll to all of you so that you can join our Members in expressing your opinions.

SUBJECT: on your website
I noticed you had some things about what kids said about sept. 11. I thought you might want to add one. My (then, 6) year old daughter Kiara watched the footage and said, "Damn, they must not have been looking where they were going. They must have been talking on the phone." When I explained to her that they did it on purpose she said, "Wait - what does "on purpose" mean? They MEANT to do that?" It was really sad.

SUBJECT: Aamera Jiwaji's article:
Dear Aamera,
What were you thinking? Lol, your English sounds like as if a 5th grader told me all the events,Hello! Wake up and smell the air,if you think your religion does all the things you say, then why don't you change it! Or if you don't want to, why don't you go abroad and look for a Bohora husband, I'm sure abroad they don't have such rules or amils there, I heard there was an international gathering in london sometime in August 2004? And recently when you had Mohrahm in Dubai, didn't your community hav a gethering there? Be smart, Be in control of your life, don't act stupid and don't write such foolish and unworthy articles, you are just wasting your time and the reader's time. And plus i bet you lost your and your family's respect as a bohora in your country, So think about what I said Aamera. I Hope you find your husband soon. Good luck. Till then take care
Gloria DeM.

TABLE OF CONTENTS & BACK ISSUESDear Gloria,I apologise for not replying earlier but it took me a while to think about your letter, and to contemplate the kind of response that was expected of me.
I was hurt, to say the least. Your comments hit home and I went into a tail-spin. How often does a writer admit that?
However, 2 weeks later, I am relatively OK about it, after lots of TLC from professional colleagues and friends to heal my wounded ego. I thank you for reading my article ... to the end, and for taking the time to write in about it.
I hope you'll continue visiting us at G21.

SUBJECT: The Day After Tomorrow
[EDITOR'S NOTE: The following e-mail is in reference to a Press Release I sent out in advance of BRAD BALFOUR's interview with director Roland Emmerich in this edition. I shared this Release with members of our Mailing List. The writer/reader in question is responding only to my Press Release as there is no way he could have seen Brad's actual interview until 10 June, ,2004. -- RA]
Rod,
Time out for a moment if you will!!!!!!
I wholeheartedly share your anguish about our failure to sign the Kyoto Agreement and also feel that the danger of global warming is very real.
However
The movie "The Day After Tomorrow" is scientifically very irresponsible, so irresponsible that I fear those who would ridicule our legitimate concerns will point to endorsement of this movie as an example of scientific naivete and hence our protests are regarded as unworthy of their concern.
Len R.
ROD RESPONDS:Len,Point well taken.
At the same time, the current administration bases its rationalizations on a "consensus" of scientific evidence. As Michael Crichton has famously said science by consensus is bullshit.
In a society that lives for "theatre" rather than substance I believe we should dare to take the risk of ridicule.
Cheers!

SUBJECT: Peripheral Neuropathy
I just read your article on taking the B12 supplements for this nerve disorder. I have had this for about 8 years without any relief and suffer daily with extreme pain in my feet. The only place I have found the Cyanocobalamin is Drugstore.com and it is in liquid form to be injected. I need to know does it come in pill form also and where do I purchase it. Thank you so much and I hope to hear from you soon. Marlene W
ROD RESPONDS:Marlene,I've passed your question along to the author in question, ED CANTARELLA. I suspect he will either respond to you privately or on these pages very soon. Good luck with finding relief and thanks for visiting us.

Sad but true......
Found your website completely by chance, I cant even remember what I was looking for.......anyway upon reading your strange but true facts, I find the one about Jasper, the Greater Vasa parrot, recovered from its flight of freedom after being struck by a golf ball at the local golf course.
The owner of this very bird is a very good friend of mine, so I am well aware of all of the antics of Jasper (and the numerous other animals that are part of his very large menagerie!). Sadly, Jasper also had a habit of consuming absolutely anything that he could fit into his mischievious little beak......edible or otherwise......He managed to find a tin of lead based airgun pellets and promptly opened them up and began to consume them. By the time anyone had realised this was happening, he had probably eaten quite a few, over the period of several weeks. He was taken to the vets after beginning to behave in a strange and aggressive manner. Several pellets were removed from his stomach, but by then, the damage was done and poor Jasper died several days later from acute lead poisoning.
as I said, very sad, but true.
Regards,
Andy S.
ROD RESPONDS:Andy,Thanks for the nice and informative e-mail. That's a rather old feature you reference. I don't think anyone mentioned it in quite a while. It's good to know someone can still find it.
