SUBJECT: Thanks!
I also grew up in the Lower Ninth Ward. The barge # 4727 is owned by Ingram Barge Co. of Nashville TN. ?
From Renny R., (No City Provided,) USA
SUBJECT: The truth about the Ninth Ward
I found your article while doing a google search to find out about the barge that broke through the levee.
I have been thinking about it since it happened--How did it happen? Why was it there in the first place? I don't understand why this is not being investigated and why there are not more answers as to why this barge was in the canal that was in the path of a hurricane (have they not seen what happens to boats in marinas as a result of these storms)? My aunt died in that flood and my family wants answers. If you get more info, please send it to me.
Also, do you know anything about the search for bodies? Several times we were told that her house had been checked, however her body was not found until 11/8.
ROD RESPONDS:Renny,Thanks for visiting G21 and for writing.? We appreciate hearing from our readers.?
I'm sorry to hear about your loss. My sympathy to you and your family.
I'm copying in the writer of that article on your e-mail.? What we know about the barge was offered by the reader above.
