SUBJECT: Monday Morning
Hello,
I just wanted to ask if you have the Monday morning article by S.A Afolabi who won the Caine prize 2005.
Your website is the bomb.
Merry xmas,
Patricia
ROD RESPONDS:Patricia, thanks for your kind words. They are appreciated. The writer you mention was not one of our nominees. I'm sure you can get information about this story at the Caine Prize site. Good luck!

Hello Mr. Amis,
I'm a writer and editor about to wrap up a brief association with ACORN. I was lamenting with [name withheld] last night and she said we had some things in common. I've been reading G21.com this afternoon and I've enjoyed my stay there. I was also excited to see your new book published by Lulu.
I considered Lulu for a publishing project and I've had a couple suggestions about putting together interviews and images for a book on post-Katrina New Orleans. I would love to get some feedback from you on using Lulu and self-publishing a Katrina-related project ...
... I'm very disappointed by my experiences with ACORN, but I believe in the mission of helping our people more than ever.
I do like the idea of publishing a book that could aid the rebuilding effort. Any thoughts?
Frances S.
ROD RESPONDS:Frances,Thanks for writing and your kind words for g21.net.

As to working with Lulu. I'd say it's a snap if you bear in mind that you are the publisher. It's an easy platform on which to operate. That challenge of being a publisher is that you're your promotional department, as well, and that is where the real work lies. Cheers!

Received a wonderful email from a gentleman named Alexander E. ... an extract of which follows:
"I came across your writings when I browsed through the G21 online magazine. Actually, it was more of a voracious feeding on the whole buffet of G21's excellent "Africa" series, than a casual jaded browsing (I would prefer to affect the latter impression - but I doubt that I can sufficiently veil my enthusiasm). I found you in the company of such excellent writers as Binyawanga Wainaina (whose trail had led me to G 21 in the first place) and Mphuthumi Ntabeni, and I liked your sparkling style."Hope your new year is off to a good start.
