Susan and I are about halfway through our European consultancy. Sponsors are the American Insurance Group and Kroll, the security agency. The clients for each seminar are mostly security chiefs of companies with staff in areas of high kidnap risk, and insurance brokers. So far, each seminar has drawn from 40 to 80 participants.
At each seminar, I talk about my experiences, and what a kidnap victim should expect--especially if taken in South America. Then Susan talks about negotiation with terrorists, from the personal perspective, and how the family and the company must work together. A Kroll K&R (kidnap & ransom) specialist talks about risks in various countries, avoidance of kidnap situations, and hostage negotiation. And the AIG rep for each country talks about AIG's K&R insurance. (Kidnap & ransom insurance is the most rapidly growing sector of the insurance industry. Many, if not most, major insurance firms are getting into it, and writing 15 to 20% more new policies each year. Any firm that has staff in Latin America--especially Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Guatemala, and Nicaragua--but has no K&R insurance is more than negligent. It is irresponsible. The same for firms working in the former Soviet Union.)
We flew out of Houston on Saturday night, 6 June, arriving in Paris late Sunday morning. Planning and coordination meetings on Monday, then two seminars on Tuesday, then by train that night to London. Seminar on Wednesday, then evening flight to this country (which Susan and I both consider the most delightful we've visited in Europe). Seminar here on Thursday. Friday (today) free, then to Copenhagen Saturday (tomorrow) afternoon. Meetings on Sunday, then seminar on Monday, followed by evening flight to Munich. Seminar in Munich on Tuesday, then to Hamburg that night. Seminar in Hamburg on Wednesday, fly to Frankfurt that night. Then the last seminar on Thursday, 18 June.
It's sort of like being rock stars on a Euro tour...except for the drugs and free sex...
"Celebrating the Spirit of Womankind" is their motto, online community for women is their thing. WOW: Women Online Worldwide has chat, message
boards, online magazines, a calendar of events, a cultural exchange program, connections for rural women, a file library and a shopping mall, just to name a few things. If you want to connect to other women this warm community is one great place to go.
Dear Rod,
I wanted to send you this update on New Utopia. On Sunday May 31st The Independent a daily London newspaper ran a big story (4 pages) on New Utopia. It can be seen by going to our web site. http://www.new-utopia.com/news.html The same story ran in The Vancouver Sun, in Vancouver, Canada on Saturday June 6th. we have been very busy with calls and e-mails from England, Canada and Australia.
We did a telephone interview with the wire service in The Netherlands on Wednesday of this week, and they are going to run a big story. We also received a call and did an interview with the London Times on Thursday morning of this week, they are running a story on This Sunday June 21st. Recieved a call today, (Friday)from a represenitive of NHK TV in Japan, they want to do a TV segment in July or August. Our Public Relations firm has started the process to get me on the TV talk shows, so hopefully that will be happening soon.
We are entering into a letter of intent with another development company, (International Mercantile) should have it signed the first of the week and hopefully a contract signed by the following week. They trade on the NASDAQ exchange and already are in the mortgage and real estate development business, so it fits very well.
I am attaching the original press release and an update.
Sincerely,
Lazarus
