FROM OUR MAILBAG 9/1 - 9/9/98:

It's the K.O. Hour...

From B. J. , Chicago, IL, USA:

I was with KO until he had the nerve to claim that Ditka, Mike Ditka, is a fraud. Are you nuts or what? Ditka made Chicago! For years Ditka was Chicago. Only a numb nuts from Beantown wouldn't see that? On what do you base your claim that Mike Ditka is fraud?

KRIS OLSON REPONDS: Ahh, yes... first it was New York, now it's fans still trying to cling to the glory days of "Da Bears" that are annoyed with me. I guess, like Fievel, I'm going west, rankling sports fans along the way... Next up, the Mountain Time Zone... watch out, Denver and Phoenix...

As to your question, where do I begin with Ditka:

Let's start with the most recent evidence, the Cameron Cleeland incident. It appears that Ditka's players had so much "respect" for his authority that they beat their starting tight end into vision problems despite Ditka's specific instruction not to engage in such shenanigans. Furthermore, they had so much "respect" for him, that no one would come clean when Ditka sought out the responsible parties for Cleeland's injury...

And do you need any more evidence that Ditka is in over his head as a personnel guy than his first-ever draft pick, Chris Naeole (10th overall)? The Saints fortunes certainly have been turned around by having Naeole in the fold, instead of say Warrick Dunn, Mike Alstott or Jake Plummer (all picked after Naeole in the 1997 NFL Draft), haven't they?

The fact of the matter is that Bill Tobin built the Bears' mini-dynasty of the mid-80's by drafting and signing the players. Buddy Ryan schemed and motivated the best feature of that team, it's defense. Which makes one wonder what Ditka was left to do, aside from get in Jim McMahon's face and throw his clipboard.

But if you want one moment that sealed the deal for me, it would be when Ditka was oblivious enough to give a garbage-time touchdown in the Super Bowl to William "Refrigerator" Perry, who had already had more than his fair share of the spotlight, instead of the guy who really deserved it, Walter Payton.

Thanks for reading and taking the time to write...

From B. 0. , [No City Provided], USA:

Predictions for the AFC are, in my opinion, right on target. Thanks for the kind words about the Jaguars!!

KRIS OLSON RESPONDS: Thanks for writing, Uncle Bob...

Does this mean I have the inside track on a seat if the Jags host the AFC Championship?

Aww, Shucks! That's real nice of you to say,

but could you send Money, instead?...

From "ERIK", Greenville, NC, USA:

You got yourself a funny site. Anyway, I've been looking for people who might be interested in helping me run a site of my own (The site at the bottom is one I've been working on, so take a look for an example of what I'm after). Anyway, I know you're probably busy with this site, but was wondering if you might know of anyone interested in writing for such a site.

From JEFF WINBUSH, Columbus, OH, USA:

Re: Unamerican.com

I enjoyed your interview with the guy who runs the site. You seemed to nail him on the hawking of t-shirts and bumper stickers. I'm afraid Mr. Kumar is rationalizing his blatant capitalism with the revolutionary rhetoric of a political neophyte. He's been exposed to the germ of a idea but somehow has deluded himself into equating zeal with actual depth.

For a more representative spin on revolution, left-wing thinking and just something to chase the conservative blues away follow these links.

Has anybody seen Raoul Tesla lately?...

From Dan A,[No City Provided], ALASKA, USA:

Like Your style, enjoyed the article about Manilla. Going there soon I hope to p.u. new bride. Getting all the info I can. Read some other articles too, great.

Keep up the good work!
Dan

RAOUL TESLA RESPONDS: Oh Dan... What the hell happened to your old one? Picking up a new bride is not what you think. God, in any country, much less one that is attempting to reach a socio-cultural identity. It is not nationalism you will experience so much as a search for a oneness. You see the chinese and the Spanish and of course the US have been in and out of this country of isles. You will be trying to acquire a life partner with no foundation. A gobbily gook of mixed capitalisms. Someone who if she wants to go to the states obviously has no idea of what she is headed into.

The Pinai is one of the most beautiful woman in the world. Yep this is true. The culture dictates a dutiful wife and most women will be true to this stereotype.

Ah, ok here goes...

Do take into consideration a desire for advancement, i.e. university without working "you said you would take care of me." You're not half as good looking here in the states - the girls are always talking about running away when they get to the US. Have sex with a Catholic and you get more Catholics. You will never be trusted, you are the "cano." -Said with distaste-. If you are young you probably will get left, the older fatter guy with a check coming in from retirement is preferred. He will not want sex that often and can buy status symbols more often than you. You are a better choice than Dubai, Saudi Arabia. You know: like shingles is better than blindness.

Please tell me you have not been reading The Single Male Traveler or the prostitute newsgroups. The more "cano" go to the RP looking for phuki cucke the more what little good America can offer will be overlooked. .

The chinese influence will give you the save face communication skills I love. No-one will ever deny knowing something, they would look 'less than'. "Of course I can do that for you, Raoul. Sure I know that. Oh it is easy-right down that street." All lies.

The spanish occupation of course gives that ever so pleasent machismo facade in men that has kept war going forfuckingever. So you had better be one tough mood swinger.

Let us not forget Marilyn , Union labor, Graft, Media control, Military-geared foreign policy, and Racism. Every Philippino knows that capitilism is the best. Money by any means neccessary.

Put all these together and tell me you want a bride. In a country that just had elections killing 1 friend and 4 people I have interviewed. Not to mention a senatorial candidate and her family on campaign in a "BACA". Priests who live in fear of political assassination leaving their certain religious faction dead in the water. (The sometimes only hope for kids who come in from the provinces to go to school, or find work.) Think about where you are going. What this woman knows as normal. You better be one dynamic motha.

So basically brother you are looking for a "exotic" looking women wo will be submissive and do as she is told. . 1st chinese, she must lie about her abilities to save face. (Communication in your marrige?)

2nd ever deal with a Latin female-well don't turn your back-elena bobbit. (Passion yes, don't screw-up.)

3rd and the best "Oh sure I love you gimmee more Lexus mor clothes." Status, you see the American way is to shit on your fellow man. It is the only method of improving your self esteem. The US Navy made sure that people understand this to be fact. (Did you want a life partner or business consultant)

Tell me you want to be in love... tell me you want a life partner, a soul mate.

Do me a favor: DO NOT tell your friends to read me, 'cause obviously I come off as a jerk who thinks the Philppino people are chattle. Please be careful. Manilla is a sausage grinder, makes NY a training ground. Things are tough in the RP not crazy or violent or dangerous...tough.

By the way uh, well, WOMEN ARE NOT A COMMODITY!

Thanks, I'll pass this to Raheem...

From Kathy G., [No City Provided], USA:

I think you're magazine is an excellent way to inform and expose pertinent info and interesting websites who otherwise might not be found. I wish you much success.

Would also like to submit The International Kwanzaa Exchange for the award. "A Click For Ujamaa"

Thanks much.

ROD RESPONDS: Kathy, thanks for writing, and for joining our Link Partner's Program. Frankly, Radio Raheem and I have been having discussions about the validity of continuing the Silver Surf Awards... They have been overshadowed by the LPP lately, and are not the prestigious event we had originally envisioned. We'll keep you in queue if they are continued, though.
