Kudos, brickbats, spam, you'll find it all right here. We publish everything that comes to our mailbox.
This is where our readers and writers get to talk to each other.
Enjoy!

From DIAMOND D, Higganum, CT, USA:
I strongly belive you should cover some policy issues...but I think you should not overextend the coverage of policy at the detriment of other areas...I would be very happy to contribute articles in the areas of electronic freedom policy and environmentmal policy and biotech policy (genetic manipulation etc) let me know if you have any particular area you want me to focus on...

From G. TOD SLONE, Concord, MA, USA:
R.
How about legal policy: keeping the people ignorant of their basic rights. Policy addition is a great idea. Spent 4 hours in jail Sept. 1 for having a nonviolent argument with a park attendant, saying fuck, and/or for taping a cop. No resisting arrest. They never told me the details. Just disorderly conduct. No blanket, no tp, no mattress, no right to that famous phone call... very medieval here in good old Concord. Hope that info doesn't exclude me as a possible contributor.
Funny I read some pretty harsh poetry and told a group of poets about the experience. They were totally indifferent. I know, you're not into poetry. However, there is some good revolutionary and militant poetry out there... very pertinent stuff.
Anyhow, back to the poll...
What about educational policy? My expertise, if you will, with my PhD and 14 years in higher ed.
As for JFK, jr. Well, I was in Paris during the brouhaha. His face was plastered on every French newspaper and magazine. Big bucks in Paris too. The death of celebrity is always big bucks. Why? Does anyone ask why? Personally, I think the whole thing was an absurd sham. Here the multimillionaire media moguls play with the heads of the poor, get them to say, yeah, JFK jr. was a nice guy, when the reality was that JFK jr. was a scion boy, multimillionaire keep the poor poor advocate despite the champion of the poor veneer worn by Teddy K and Cie. It is interesting how the media creates love for the ultrawealthy, when in fact, the poor should feel nothing but scorn. The ultrawealthy excel at ultrahoarding. Why should people be shedding tears for a Kennedy with a silver spoon in mouth? Should they not be shedding tears instead for the innocent in our nation's prison cells? People need to see psychiatrists. Amen. Enjoy your day.

From JURATE MACNORIUTE, Vilnius, Lithuania:
"So the poll question: Do you think G21 should add policy to its areas of focus?"
Yes, I think you should add policy.
"If so, what types of policy issues would you like to see us address?"
Global problems of our time. [For] Instance, how to neutralize the national and religions' conflicts? Not only statment of facts, but proposing the ways out of a situation.
From JENNIFER BLUE, Torrance, CA, USA:
dear pioneering metamorphical (butterfly) publisheer,
yes yes yes is my opinion regarding Policy Issues (that is yes yes yes let us see them addressed). i personally hate "zero tolerance" policy; it is like saying "i am ignorant and a bigot."
how are you? i know you get really really busy so don't feel you have to give me an answer until you can give me answer! (if you Want To of course ;-> ).
miss blue. blew. bloo.
From STEVE LEON, Los Angeles, CA USA:
go ahead, broaden my horizons. I've got two shoulders, but I mostly grind only one against the wheel of technology/work/paying the mortgage, with blinders on ...

From RIC WILLIAMS, Austin, TX USA:
Just what we need: more experts pounding their puds--uh--keyboards telling us the social wrongs we've done, how we're corrupt and venal, lazy and greedy, how we haven't got the good sense to elect a liberator philosopher king, one who would bring peace and love and ISDN lines to alla us good chillren's forever and ever HTML.
Naw, sure. What the hell. A little splenetic venting helps the circulation. Teach us. Reach us.
And maybe it'll get ya a guest spot on Fox News. Help your love life. That is a good thing. You are, after all, much better looking than Matt Drudge. Just remember: M. Bakhtin warns that a good carnival is usually bad for the revolution.
"The revolution will not be televised"--Gil Scott-Heron. Nor will it be emailed.
Meanwhile: Lord, hear my prayer. Save us from the salvationists for they truly are beginning to chap my ass.

From RON DIENER, Raleigh, NC, USA:
PLEASE do embark more on policy issues. My personal favorite areas concern economics of interest to the individual (not global, not national - although they are also interesting). Jim Hightower used to say, "Who cares about the Dow-Jones averages, after all? What about the Doug Jones averages? you know Doug - six-pack fella, wife, two and a half children, drives a Chevy. Who cares about the price of GE stock, what about soup stock? and peanut butter? and hamburger? etc. etc." By the way, I do love that man, Jim Hightower. And if you are leaning toward wonking of policy, he would be a wondrous author for you.
I am NOT interested in celebrities, movie and rock stars, "prominent" people in the news (even though I do love to hear Ariana and her wonderful accent). I do not know much, but would like to learn more about education as public policy. Mr. Kantakazis (spelling?) was the headmaster of Boston Latin School when my three when there. He always had interesting notions about teaching and learning.
Likewise, I do not know all that much about sports as a public policy issue, but what with the troubles of the Olympics, National Basketball Association, Major League Baseball, etc., there is no lack of topics that could be very interesting (governmental subsidies, direct and indirect for the Salt Lake City fiasco; building of stadiums and arenas with public monies; tax breaks for professional sports [the tax that they break is almost invariably the taxes paid for education - and as you say, we Americans do tend to hate - or is it eat? - our children]; the modeling and mentoring by professional athletes for children, for good and/or for evil; etc.).
Go for it, fella!
Ron Diener
From R.D. LARSON, [No City Provided,] USA:
Hi
Yes, policy is a good idea; I have an interest in environmental policy. Thanks.
What can I do to submit to G-21?
