Subject: merely?
From your web page:
Hitler was a great graphic designer, you know. Also a superb watercolorist. Good design often requires a Nazi-like approach. Killing the Jews was merely a grotesquely inappropriate extension of "Less is more."
I agree with you about Hitler's design skills. He was a pretty decent artist, somewhat lacking in depth of emotion, but still a competent technician. I'm not aware of examples of his design, so i can't speak from experience, but I find that your joke about the torture and slaughter of millions of people, including gypsies (the whole european population), gays, catholics and dissdents as well as jews, to be in EXTREMELY poor taste. I think the word "merely" is where it falls down. "Merely" indicates that it is something which does not deserve consideration.
It wasn't funny.

Homesick already? In this instance having that bad penny return is good news. I like the new look & please don't remove The Hunger Site. Your conflicts with Good vs. Evil (both internally & those external forces) is Mr/Ms. Reality Check for all. You're a good guy & I stand by the belief that they don't finish last.

The Rodman slams the surly writer, and the FANS GO WILD!!!
Compassion....humm? After umpteen years of listening to my parents, who have strong Socialistic leanings,I would agree: compassion does not fit in with a socialist agenda very well.

SUBJECT: Stealth IT
I can appreciate what your saying, As one my self who has been in the computer field and communication field for well over 20 years my self. We were build, fixing and programming the phone system, fax machine and computer system long before you could get a special degree, or even certified in this and that. We did it all, remember we were here yesterday, today and we know we'll be here tomorrow. I am now self employed and run a small design and programming company, and I am still the one person who can do it all ( and I still can't get a raise). Well done, very well done.

Subject: Jazz
To: rod@g21.net
Dear Rod:
Just read the "Jazz" piece; it is so very true that racism has held back or crushed many a good man. Regarding art form origins - jeesh, I hope some Frenchy does not see this; apparently many of them think THEY created Jazz(seems every ethnic group has had some "cerebral" music and a reason to sing the blues). I would definately agree that American Jazz and Blues are a unique creation, created out of the angst of "strangers in a strange land", with the instruments of their "keepers". Musicians of all stripes like to think we are set free from restraint, when we are doing our "thang".
Regarding.......when we are alone and talking about THEM(the dominant group): IMHO(in my humble opinion)this is what got THEM(bear in mind I am 1/32 Af.Am. & 1/16 Nat.Am.) and ALL OF US in trouble. Grouping and classifying people arb itrarily according to color, sex, size, etc. seems to be a universal theme. "Blood on their hands"? Humm,I don't know if any group has a corner on that market(ancient Jews,Phillisenes, Egyptians, Incas, several dynasties in China), though the white man certainly seems to have had a run at this madness, which, aided by technology, money, sociatal acceptance and shear numbers has taken almost 400 hundred years to put the brakes on. Now we have to try to undue 400 years of "Big Man syndrome" instilled into white culture and 400 years of "Least Man syndrome" instilled into black culture. Truely an uphill climb. Me and you can't change history, but we can work on the present and future. Along a similar vein, re. the Without Sanctuary site, I noticed the Italian immagrants hung out in the swamp, black visitors noticed all the black victims - but the site author's main purpose in building the site seemed to just be an examination of the social bizarrness of making postcard out of these illegal mob hangings. Sometimes I think the Native Americans were the only one's who had a halfway graceful exit: they got to die as warriors, not as prisoners.
Provoked into thought, but with no real answers,
Ed
