Wait! Let us stop laughing!

From Bob P., Westminister, MD, USA:

SUBJECT: Wrong, Hart-on!

Editor:

Tabby may be right to have a hart-on for Hills, but he coulda had the courtesy to get the alleged quote right. Hillary's vituperative ejaculation was, allegedly, "fucking Jew bastard" -- not just the garden variety slur, "Jew bastard."

May a twister blow your palatial doublewide into the next unreconstructed state, Hart.

Bob P., AIM
(Accuracy in Mud)

THOMAS HART RESPONDS: Thanks for the correction of my citation, Mr. P. I'm sure you understand that our Publisher is trying to keep this here rag "R" rated --- as opposed to "X" rated, as often as he can. That's why I truncated that there alleged quote from the Darling of you effete East Coast liberals. The point, my good man, was that whether ole Hillary said it or not, she has the reputation of being such a danged witch that lots of people believe she could have said it.

From Meredith T., Tampa, FL, USA:

SUBJECT: Sanctuary of Azjen

Quite a superb piece. And a great bio blurb too. ;-)

From Phala R-O, Rapid City, MI, USA:

SUBJECT: Digitally Correct - Politcally Askance

Hooray RA: İ

How's my favorite iconoclastic Old Soul? Flourishing I gather! Just goes to show . . . good men stay up longer - even celibate good men! İ

I see that your options, your opinions, your health, and your sanity remain intact! For awhile I was concerned that your monthly tangential trek was to become a permanent path. İ

Therapeuticİpractitioners onceİlabeled (incorrectly) those of us who experience the ebb and flow of creative cycles as being afflicted with Cyclothymic Personality Disorder . . . mood swings (and their corresponding physical anomalies) distinguished by lack of external impetus - not quite Borderline nor Bi-polar! The shrink community (of which I am an abdicated member) recently amended it's diagnostic jargon and now wraps those imbued with creative ilk in a new moniker . . .

Ah the joy and despair of being blessed with an Artistic Personality! İ Our moods, our methods, and our madness are directly influenced by our always present and prevailing creative impetus -İwe are destined to be affected all our waking and dreamingİmomentsİby an influence whose insistent murmuring will not be denied and must be heard! We must, we must, we must create or burst (even though bustİscans better!) What a relief to know I'm not an abhorrent psychotic - just a talented aberrant! İ

When stupid banal people try to stifle artistic personalities by suffocating them in the quagmire of the mundane - meetings, forms, office politics, etc. etc. etc. ad nauseam- something must give. Just Don't Let It Be You! İ

Two of my favorite axioms I'd like to share: 1) The nail that stands the highest gets hit the hardest; and, 2) The greatest joy in the world is sitting by the river and watching as your enemy floats by!İ İ

Re: Digital Signatures - foregone conclusion and for me a done deed. I never understood people who use web pseudonyms. Apparently, in order to have any identity at all, many people feel the need to consistently re-invent themselves. İ

In my NOT so humble opinion - anonymity breeds apathy and privacy is an anachronism. I prefer to stand naked and visible (albeit alone) in the waves - visions of Aphrodite. My laissez-faireİphilosophy keeps me outside the net by choice. As long as the rents are visible and accessible (Please, Get Out of My Way, Thank you! I abhor rudeness!) I come and go freely as I chose. However, one day if I'm not wary, a recalcitrant fisherman will snagİme while I'm distracted!İ Therefor I, too, ". . . demur yet again from human contact." (Shades of Ballad of the Long-legged Bait perchance?) It's not love I fear and resist, it's the threat of entrapment!İ İ

Oh, yes, FYI - just returned from the *Fault Zone* and remember why I seldom go there! Two of my younger sisters still live inİWalnut Creek and Concord - I thought it was time to reciprocate and visit them for a change and see if the City (and my attitude toward it) had improvedİin my absence - Nah! Congested, contrived, and ala Tom Wolf's Mau-Mauing the Flak Catchers, I re-discovered that I am still sick, sick, sick, of California's Affected Elitist *Radical Chic*! My decision to head Eastİwas right on (however, Trinidad stillİmakes my throatİthrob and my eyes sting - and,İsentimentalİmasochist that I am, I enjoy the sensation of being overwhelmed by natural beauty.)

I chose well when this year I decided to live (and, hopefully, to die,) on my forty acre hilltop inİMI's great Northwest. İ

I wish you too were in your spiritual home place, at peace in your hermitage. Frankly, Haussner's was the only reason I ever went to BA. (Now I have two reasons!) However, the downside to living in one's idyllic and long-sought-out physical space (Rats, must I always see the big picture!) is that the satisfaction brought on by the external reality preempts the internal agitation that impels creativity. I look out my window and feel a sense of peace and joy thatİonce only the filling of blank pages could inspire. Since moving here my writerİwent on hiatus with my publisher and theİfuckers even took my muse on vacation with them no less! However, as this mini-diatribe reveals, all is well and it's obvious that we'reİall back together - once again one! İ

Before I close I need toİconvey an additional observation;İRE: the work of Jennifer Blue! I find her proseİto beİscintillatingly sardonic, well-crafted, and inspired. I rarely read v.p. Today I did andİ was incensed by the lame dork who made a disparaging reference to her essay Purgatory (I bet he wears flannel!) and her horoscope column (another fanciful gem.) I went through the archives and re-read everything she had written for g21 since September. Frankly my man, if I were less well-adjusted than I am, I'd be envious! She's a keeper! Stroke her often! İ

Later,
PRO

P.S.İİ As I am fondly called the hermit by friends and family and possess an inordinate need for solitude, I understand how debilitating being pushed and pulled by the demands of ordinary realityİcan be.İBeing an introvertİis not synonymous with a lack of social skills. I just means that we can sit in a corner for days and be amused by our own musings. My stimulation comes from inside. Too much external stimuli wears me out. I'm a giving person. However, I sometimes think that I anticipate and satisfy peoples' needs so that they will leave happy - sooner! I write to no otherİperson in cyberspace! I don't do superficial chats. Why you, why me? I'm not certain, but I believe there are no accidentsİand we all have a message for each other. I can tell you this, the best is yet to come.

ROD RESPONDS: Phala, considering how you obviously avoid a lot of what goes on here in the ether, I'm glad you find G21 a nice place to visit. Tell all your friends! Our Winking Smiley.

For the most part, I try to shy away from giving lengthy responses here at VoxPop because I think it's the space for the readers and writers to have their say. I have "My Glass House" when I want to wax poetic and "MOIA" when I want to talk tech. But I felt it would be discourteous not to respond to some of the issues you raise.

Firstly, I wholeheartedly agree with you as to some of the (mistaken) opinions out there about the "aberrations" of the artistic personality. There's more to life than round and square pegs. Sometimes I think the whole design of most educational systems is predicated on sapping the creativity out of people when they are still too young to resist that process. Regimentation is the order of the day...

In any event, thanks for taking the time to share with me at length. I hope you'll continue to enjoy the evolving shape of the G21. Regards.

Subject: Well Well. Matt Hale is a dickhead. I remember him from school

My sister kicked his ass in school years ago. We lived by him for many years. HIs brother was a thief as i recall. But I cant't remember his name. Well I guess they don't matter to me much though. I moved away from that hell hole 10 years ago. MATT WAS A ASS THEN AND SEEMS TO BE NOWADAYS AS WELL. Thanks for your time. me

From Marion W., Madison, WI, USA:

Dear Rod Amis,

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I've only been reading the G21 for about six weeks now, but I just wanted to write in and let you know how refreshing it is to find a place on the Web that is not only devoted to rants, sex, celebrities or jokes!

The fact that you feature wonderful, thoughtful writers from countries outside of the U.S. is visionary all by itself!

You are becoming as addictive as coffee. Keep up the great work!

From Aliza D., Senior Editor, MediaChannel, New York, NY, USA:

Hi:

We wanted to call your attention to "The New Black CNN" --- a dialogue about the business, culture and politics of the urban media scene exclusively from MediaChannel.org.

http://www.mediachannel.org/views/interviews/urbanmedia.shtml

Moderated by MediaChannel.org editor Donnell Alexander, the discussion includes Alain Mariduena, president of Stress Media; Scoop Jackson, former editor of XXL magazine and author of the NBA.com column "NBA Underground"; Crispus Attucks, the self-described "urban media revolutionary" (First strike: urbanexpose.com); Rahsaan Harris, Associate Director of HarlemLive.org; and Cristina Ver·n, journalist and historian who has documented cultural movements and issues effecting the Latino and Native American communities.

This is the first in a 2-part special report on urban media presented by MediaChannel.org, the non-profit, public interest site dedicated to media issues worldwide.

We hope you'll check it out, respond in the Forum, consider posting and sharing the link, and spread the word about MediaChannel.org.

Thanks,
Aliza D.

From Pieter De Mil, (No City Provided,) BELGIUM:

Dear Rod Amis , ( http://www.g21.net/ )

This is the pressrelease of the new service for chatters ( http://asl.to ), we hope this can be interesting for you and we hope G21 The World's Magazine could write something about it:

On July 22, two Flemish students, Toon Coppens and Pieter De Mil, filled a gap on the internet. Indeed, their site, a chat service: http://asl.to was launched that day.

The idea came from these 3 letters: A, S, L. This is probably the most commonly used abbreviation during chat sessions. ASL stands for Age, Sex and Location. Very often the same question is raised: ÏCan I have your ASL ?Ó

That is why ASL.TO was created. Chatters from around the world can create their own page to present a brief profile of themselves. They are offered a short and easy to remember URL, namely http://asl.to/nickname (with nickname, which you can choose yourself). In no more than five minutes, everyone can create their own spot on the net, thanks to the user-friendly sign-up procedure. Fill in your nickname, choose a password and you are only a few steps away from showing the world your profile.

Of course, web users can put their asl (age, sex and location) on their free site, but also their real name, their hobbies and interests, their profession, the url of their homepage, their phone number, their ICQ number and their favourite chat servers etc. (none of these features are obliged). And because an image may be more revealing than all your data, there is also a possibility to place a personal picture on your page.

The visitors of your ASL site can sign your guestbook. You can also use the news function: you can update your news at any moment, so you can keep your friends informed.

An additional aim of this site is to bring chatters from all around the world into contact with each other. Through our search engine, it is possible to search by name, nickname, sex, location, ÷ . That way, it will be a piece of cake to get in touch with local chatters, but also with chatters from the other part of the globe.

If you need more information, please do not hesitate to contact us at: press@asl.to

The ASL Team is : - Pieter De Mil (BELGIUM): Helpdesk, PR, Starting Partner : http://asl.to/mil - Toon Coppens(BELGIUM) : HTML, ASP programming, design, Helpdesk, Starting Idea, Starting Partner : http://asl.to/toon

Kind regards,
Pieter De Mil
